Choose from the many dining options at the War Memorial Opera House provided by Global Gourmet Catering or in neighboring Hayes Valley. Please note: Outside food and beverages are not permitted in the War Memorial Opera House. Please note: Patrons with dining reservations at the Opera House prior to one hour before curtain must enter via the North Courtyard entrance.

Options at the Opera House

Order your intermission refreshments before the show! Visit the bar closest to your seating section and order your intermission drink from the bartender. Your drink will be waiting for you at the bar at the start of intermission. It's that easy!

Lower Lounge

A night at the opera is an elegant event, deserving of a remarkable culinary experience. Our gorgeous setting located on the lower level of the War Memorial Opera House offers an ideal environment for pre-performance dining and intermission.

This June, step into the world of La Bohème as the Prelude Restaurant transforms into Café Momus—the lively Parisian brasserie where the beloved Bohemians gather. In celebration of this summer’s production, a sumptuous buffet of French favorites will be served throughout the month at performances of both La Bohème and Idomeneo. Explore the full menus below and savor a taste of Paris at the opera.

The Prelude buffet will not be available for the June 27 Pride Concert. However, the North Box Bar restaurant will be open and accepting reservations. Guests with advance reservations will receive 20% off.

Grand Tier Level (South)

Elevate your night at the Opera with a visit to our new Champagne Bar, offering a variety of bubbles, plus a specialty cocktail and decadent bites. Grab a glass and enjoy it on the outdoor Loggia with a stunning view of City Hall. Open for select performances during the summer season.
