San Francisco Opera’s biggest fundraiser of the year!
Step into the 2026–27 Season with an unforgettable evening at San Francisco’s iconic City Hall. Your night begins with a sparkling cocktail hour, followed by an exquisite dinner prepared by celebrated local chefs, all set beneath the magnificent dome of City Hall’s breathtaking rotunda. Then journey across the plaza to the War Memorial Opera House for the opening night of Verdi’s Simon Boccanegra, led by Music Director Eun Sun Kim. When the final ovation fades, return to City Hall for a spectacular after-party, featuring music, dancing, and the company of fellow opera lovers.
This glittering kickoff to our new season supports San Francisco Opera and San Francisco Opera Guild’s artistic and education programming.

- Subscribers who need to exchange their tickets into opening night, have a series that includes opening night, or need to purchase additional tickets should call the box office at 415-864-3330 to place their Opera Ball order.
- Each ticket includes dinner and a tax-deductible donation to San Francisco Opera, along with the cocktail reception and after-party. Performance tickets are an additional purchase, not included in the Opera Ball ticket.
- Seating will be assigned in summer 2026. Seating requests may be submitted via email at patronservices@sfopera.com. Seating for subscription add-on tickets and exchanges will be different from subscription seating. We do our best to consider dinner seating requests but are unable to guarantee your first choice of dinner seating or performance seating. Call the Box Office at (415) 864-3330 with questions.
- If you would like your Opening Night performance tickets to be sent to a different address than submitted during the checkout process, please contact the Box Office to let us know at (415) 864-3330.
- Federal rules prohibit Donor Advised Funds from providing donations as part of Opera Ball ticket purchases. For more information please consult your Donor Advised Fund institution. For instructions on using appreciated stock to purchase Opera Ball tickets, please call (415) 565-3212.
- The Opera Ball ticket price includes a fair market value of $350. The remaining tax-deductible portion will benefit a wide range of artistic initiatives at San Francisco Opera as well as San Francisco Opera Guild’s education programs during the 2026–27 Season.
