The Opera in You Returns!

Our celebrated series of writing and storytelling workshops returns this summer at San Francisco Public Library, online, and in our very own home at San Francisco Opera. Led by experienced and passionate teachers, workshops explore the unique experiences within us all, as participants build storytelling literacy skills in a creative and collaborative environment. 

 

Stories Retold

At San Francisco Opera, we love to retell stories. From the legend of the Holy Grail in Wagner’s celebrated masterpiece Parsifal to the world premiere of Huang Ruo and David Henry Hwang’s The Monkey King, opera is all about telling stories in new ways. In our 2025 season of The Opera in You, we focus on the retelling of stories that represent our cultures, our childhoods, and the world we live in today.
