• Seating Priority

  Full and Half Series subscribers get to keep their same seats throughout the season, and can also keep their seats from year to year if they renew their same Full or Half Series package.

  Design Your Own Series subscribers will sit in different seats for each performance during the season, and will have different seats when they renew their subscription.

  Full Series subscribers get first seating priority, Half Series subscribers get second priority, and Design Your Own Series subscribers get third priority.

• Seat Upgrades

  Full and Half Series subscribers are given complimentary seat upgrades so you can try out other sections of the Opera House:

  • Full Series subscribers receive three complimentary seat upgrades
  • Half Series subscribers receive one complimentary seat upgrade

  *Please note that Design Your Own, Student/Teacher and BRAVO! subscribers do not receive complimentary seat upgrades.

   

• Exchanges

  Early Exchanges:

  Full and Half Series subscribers are entitled to early exchanges at the time of subscribing or renewing—so if you already know you will miss a performance in your series, you can easily reschedule!

  • Full Series subscribers can request up to three early exchanges at the time of order. To request an early exchange, please call or visit the Box Office.
    
    
  • Half Series subscribers can request up to two early exchanges at the time of order, with the exception of X Series (X Series cannot place early exchanges). To request an early exchange, please call or visit the Box Office.

  Seating and zones for exchanges are not guaranteed to be the same as subscription seats and price differential does apply.

  *Please note that for the Osher Future of Opera, Student/Teacher, and BRAVO! subscriptions, subscription tickets may be exchanged for another mainstage performance within the same season with some restrictions. Read our Subscriber Ticket Exchange Policy for more information.

   

  Unlimited Exchanges During the Season:

  Exchanges can be made up to 2 hours before the performance by calling the Box Office at (415) 864-3330. All exchanges are subject to availability and any price differential may apply when exchanging into alternate dates.
  
  Exchanges within 2 hours of the performance are not allowed. If you are unable to exchange your tickets within two hours of the performance, call the Box Office at (415) 864-3330 before the performance begins to return tickets for a tax-deductible donation.

• Discounts on Additional Tickets

  All subscribers receive a discount on additional tickets purchased outside of their subscription.

  This discount is available for most zones and most dates. The exact discount varies.

  Please note that add-on tickets may be priced differently than subscription tickets.

• OPERA America Passport

  All subscribers receive access to the OPERA America passport, which provides discounted tickets across participating opera and performing arts companies in North America. Discounts vary per participating organization.

• Free Livestreams

  Full Series Subscribers can view the livestreams for every performance offered during the season. The livestream includes a 48-hour on demand viewing period when available. 

  *Please note that Student/Teacher and BRAVO! Full Series subscribers do not receive free livestreams.
