Utility French Horn
Logan Bryck joined the San Francisco Opera Orchestra as Utility French Horn in 2025 after playing as a Regular Substitute Musician since 2022.
Outside of the Opera season, he enjoys a varied and active freelance schedule, playing both high and low horn, section and principal, on many different types of horns around the Bay Area and beyond. As an orchestra musician, he has performed with the San Francisco Symphony, the San Francisco Ballet, the Oregon Symphony, the Auckland Philharmonia, the Sarasota Orchestra and the Indianapolis Symphony. He has appeared as principal horn with the Midsummer Mozart Festival Orchestra, Marin Symphony, and the Auckland Philharmonia.
Bryck began playing the French Horn in his public school band outside of Portland, Oregon. During his undergraduate studies at the Oberlin Conservatory, he was offered a fellowship at the Music Academy of the West in Santa Barbara, where he had the opportunity to study with Julie Landsman, Principal French Horn of the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra. He pursued graduate studies with Landsman at the Juilliard School and spent additional summers under her instruction as a fellow at the Music Academy of the West.
