Colburn, Sara
Soprano Sara Colburn, born into a family of musical, visual, and theatrical artists, joined the San Francisco Opera Chorus in 2000. She is thrilled to sing alongside many of the biggest stars in the opera world, as well as the greatest colleagues around. She has been an active soloist and chamber musician across the Bay Area, including ensemble work with Philharmonia Baroque Chorale and American Bach Soloists.
Ms. Colburn studied at the Sorbonne and Institut des Études Politiques in Paris, and holds undergraduate degrees from Northwestern University in French Language and Literature, and Voice. She also completed two masters degrees at Indiana University, where she studied and performed repertoire from a timespan of over one thousand years.
When not performing, Ms. Colburn devotes her time to her family—husband Anthony, daughters Rosie and Sophie, and Goldendoodle, Winnie.
